Huntsville Public Library reopens after makeover


The Huntsville Public Library in Alabama, US has reopened after upgrades.


The facility has been expanded from 7000 to 22,000 square feet as part of the project. It now features a self-check out station at the circulation desk and a dedicated space for children. The latter is more spacious and dons shades of blue, green and orange. The children's section also features a doorway designed exclusively for children, apart from fun artistic pieces.

The revamped building features four meeting rooms including a large community room fitted with tables, chairs, and a projector. There is a smaller board room with a capacity to house a maximum of 16 people. The facility now also features a pair of study rooms, each having a capacity of four.

The building will sport a central zone for lounging and reading newspapers or magazines following the makeover. It will also incorporate a cafe fitted with seating and vending machines. Among the various other features of the refurbished library include a teen area, a genealogy room, a dedicated computer lab, and over 80 parking areas.
